FOUNDATIONAL RESEARCH

Elements of Effective Practice

The Elements of Effective Practice (EEP) is a written guide to help you and your program understand and follow best practice in mentoring for the most successful outcomes. There are also EEP supplements on best practice for specific topics such as E-Mentoring and mentoring LGBTQ+ youth. The Power of Relationships report highlights the importance of mentoring relationships.

National Mentoring Resource Center

The National Mentoring Resource Center hosts a wealth of resources on what works in mentoring. Here are some of our favorite areas:

Key Topics in Mentoring: Guides with content about specific populations of youth in mentoring, as well as specific mentoring program types

Resources for Mentoring Programs: Collection of mentoring handbooks, curricula, manuals, and other resources that practitioners can use to implement and further develop program practices

Measurement Guidance Toolkit for Mentoring Programs: Evaluation! A go-to resource of recommended instruments for measuring key youth outcomes in mentoring programs

Tools to Strengthen Match Support & Closure: Tools developed to address a major challenge in service delivery (as identified by a growing body of research)–the proper support and eventual closure of mentoring matches

MAKE AN IMPACT ON THE MENTORING MOVEMENT

MENTOR Minnesota is dedicated to quality mentoring experiences for all young people. Yet, 1 in 3 young people still need and could benefit from a caring adult mentor. Your gift helps us close that mentoring gap. Donate today.
